ACT Capital Advisors has established a new office in Miami, marking a strategic expansion to support mergers and acquisitions activity between North America and Latin America. The firm has appointed Managing Director Juan Ortega to lead the Miami location, positioning the office as a central hub for cross-border dealmaking and advisory services.
Ortega brings experience as both an M&A advisor and an entrepreneur. He has built, scaled, and exited multiple companies, including leading HCOA Fitness through a strategic turnaround that resulted in a profitable sale. He later acquired the Orangetheory Fitness area development rights for Missouri and expanded the franchise business, ultimately achieving another successful exit. Earlier in his career, he worked at a multi-billion-dollar family office, where he sourced and executed acquisitions across various industries. His transaction and operational experience spans aviation services, industrial sectors, and multi-unit consumer services.
By combining the marketing and financial infrastructure of ACT’s headquarters in Seattle with Ortega’s Miami roots, bilingual capabilities, and cross-border business relationships, the new office is expected to facilitate transactions connecting buyers and sellers across emerging and established markets. Miami’s location and commercial ecosystem provide strategic access to deal flow from Latin America, enabling ACT to expand its global presence and advisory reach.
ACT Capital Advisors has been advising lower to middle-market companies on mergers and acquisitions for over 40 years and has completed more than 250 transactions, representing over $2.5 billion in client value.
