Acumatica has acquired Vertrax, a longtime technology partner that provides cloud-based enterprise resource planning and business management software for the fuel and energy distribution industry. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition was completed on July 2, 2026. Vertrax will continue operating under its existing brand as a business unit of Acumatica.
The transaction expands Acumatica’s industry-specific software capabilities and strengthens its presence among fuel marketers, propane distributors, lubricant businesses, convenience retailers, and other companies operating across the energy distribution sector.
Vertrax has developed specialized intellectual property and business management applications on top of the Acumatica Cloud ERP platform. Its products combine Acumatica’s broader enterprise software capabilities with tools designed around the operational requirements of fuel and energy distributors.
The company helps customers manage areas such as financial operations, inventory, purchasing, sales, customer service, delivery workflows, and other business processes through a connected cloud platform.
Acumatica said Vertrax’s industry expertise, customer relationships, and rapid growth made the company a natural addition to its organization.
The acquisition brings more than 40 Vertrax employees to Acumatica. The team will continue supporting existing customers while developing additional products and services for the fuel and energy distribution market.
Acumatica said Vertrax’s current products, services, customer relationships, pricing, contracts, and active projects will continue without interruption following the acquisition.
Maintaining Vertrax as a distinct business unit is intended to preserve the specialized knowledge and customer support that the company has developed within the energy industry.
At the same time, Vertrax will gain access to Acumatica’s larger development resources, cloud ERP platform, partner ecosystem, and broader commercial organization.
The companies expect the combination to accelerate Vertrax’s growth and support the development of additional functionality for businesses managing complex energy distribution operations.
Fuel and energy distributors often operate across multiple locations, delivery routes, storage facilities, and product categories. They must also manage changing commodity prices, regulatory requirements, inventory availability, customer contracts, and transportation logistics.
Industry-specific ERP software can help these companies connect financial information with operational data and reduce the reliance on disconnected systems or manual processes.
Vertrax’s products are designed to address these requirements while giving customers access to Acumatica’s broader cloud-based business management capabilities.
Acumatica provides cloud ERP software for small and midsized businesses across several industries. Its platform combines financial management, distribution, inventory, customer relationship management, project accounting, manufacturing, construction, and other operational capabilities.
The company’s technology is designed to give employees access to business information from different locations while allowing organizations to adapt their software as operations grow or change.
Acumatica has increasingly focused on developing industry-specific products and working with independent software vendors that extend its platform for specialized markets.
Vertrax has been a longtime member of that partner ecosystem. The acquisition brings the company’s software and industry expertise directly into Acumatica while preserving the Vertrax brand and operating structure.
Vertrax CEO Vinny Mullineaux will continue leading the business as it works with Acumatica to expand its product roadmap and customer base.
The combined organization plans to invest in additional technology that helps energy distributors simplify operations, improve efficiency, and respond to changing customer and market demands.
Acumatica also expects the acquisition to strengthen its ability to support companies that require both a comprehensive ERP system and highly specialized industry workflows.
