Acumed has announced the acquisition of select assets from TECHFIT Digital Surgery. This move solidifies its position in the patient-tailored solutions segment for craniomaxillofacial patients and supports the company’s plans to expand into new clinical categories and international markets. The transaction provides Acumed with full ownership of TECHFIT’s proprietary technologies, including its digital surgical planning and reconstruction platform, which has been central to the companies’ collaborative work in CMF procedures.
With the integration of these technologies, Acumed aims to expand its offerings across orthognathic, trauma and reconstruction, and neurosurgical applications while accelerating the availability of customized implants and surgical planning tools. The company stated that patient-specific CMF solutions are now widely regarded as a leading standard of care, and this acquisition positions Acumed to scale delivery of these solutions globally.
Mauricio Toro, CEO of TECHFIT Digital Surgery, will also join Acumed as part of the acquisition. Toro brings deep experience in designing and deploying patient-tailored surgical systems, and will support ongoing development and commercialization efforts across provider networks.
Acumed, headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, provides orthopedic and trauma-focused medical device solutions to healthcare providers worldwide. TECHFIT Digital Surgery specializes in digital surgical planning and patient-specific reconstruction tools used across CMF and related surgical disciplines.
