Adams Street Partners Launches Asia Advisory Council As Regional Deployment Tops $7.5 Billion

Adams Street Partners has launched an Asia Advisory Council designed to provide senior personnel with regional market insights, global perspectives and strategic guidance as the $76 billion private markets investment manager expands its operations across Asia.

The five-member council comprises Dr. Greg Brown, Eugene Choung, Stephen Mitchell, Simon Pillar and Eugene Wong.

Adams Street has invested in Asia for more than two decades, deploying more than $7.5 billion in the region and realizing more than $5 billion. Its current annual deployment pace in Asia is approximately $500 million, and the firm maintains relationships with more than 500 general partners globally.

Brown is founder and research director of the Institute for Private Capital and a researcher focused on alternative investments and financial risk. Choung is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Emerald Hill Capital Partners and previously served as Director of Private Equity at the University of Chicago Endowment.

Mitchell brings more than 40 years of investment management experience across equity and fixed-income markets. Pillar is a co-founder of Pacific Equity Partners, one of Australia’s established private markets firms, which manages $19 billion in AUM. Wong spent more than three decades at GIC and held senior positions across its private equity and credit businesses before retiring in 2024.

The council will serve in an advisory capacity as Adams Street scales its regional strategy and relationships, rather than managing investment vehicles or making binding investment decisions.
