Adaptive ML: $20 Million Secured To Improve GenAI Models Based On User Interactions

By Amit Chowdhry • Mar 13, 2024

Adaptive ML – a company that enables companies to perpetually improve their generative AI (GenAI) models based on user interactions – announced that it has raised a $20 million seed round led by Index Ventures. Databricks Ventures, ICONIQ Capital, Motier Ventures, IRIS, HuggingFund by Factorial, and many notable angel investors joined the round.

The funding will be used to continue investing in research and product development and rapidly grow the team in Paris and New York.

Adaptive’s goal is to enable enterprises everywhere to utilize the benefits of ever-learning generative models and deliver intuitive experiences that lift key business metrics. Adaptive ML has already shipped the first version of its enterprise platform.

There has been a high demand for enterprises to use large language models (LLMs). However, a large gap exists between a generic off-the-shelf model and making it work for a specific production use case.

Engaging experiences can only happen when the model is aligned with users’ goals. And getting there is a challenging process that involves technical and specialized techniques. Adaptive ML will unlock the power of these techniques and make them accessible to enterprises everywhere.

Adaptive’s platform abstracts away the technical details around fine-tuning and reinforcement learning, thus accelerating time-to-release for LLM-based products.

Adaptive ML was built for any enterprise interested in deploying large language models used in customer support, software development, and deep research efforts.

KEY QUOTES:

“At Adaptive ML, we are streamlining the path to more intuitive, stickier genAI applications, directly driving improved user experience and business outcomes. In the long-term, we envision perpetually learning models absorbing every interaction to deliver experiences unique to every user.”

  • Adaptive ML CEO Julien Launay

“Alignment is the foundation of how users experience large language models. While pre-training teaches a model how to think, it is alignment that teaches it how to communicate. We are excited to partner with Adaptive to bring the power of alignment to enterprises, everywhere, enabling them to build production-ready models that are uniquely suited to their business.”
