Addepar is a data and AI platform that helps investment professionals aggregate, analyze, and act on complex portfolio data across public and private markets. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Addepar Chief Client Officer Janeen France to learn more.
Janeen France’s Background

Can you tell us about your background and your role at Addepar? France said:
“I’ve spent my career building and scaling client-focused organizations across financial services, with a focus on helping firms operate more effectively and deliver better outcomes. As Chief Client Officer at Addepar, I lead the company’s global client strategy and oversee all client-facing functions to ensure a consistent, value-driven experience for clients worldwide.”
“I joined Addepar in 2021 and have held several leadership roles during a period of rapid growth, most recently leading Go-To-Market Strategy & Operations. Prior to Addepar, I held senior leadership roles at HighTower Advisors and J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where I built client-first teams grounded in trust, insight, and performance—an approach that continues to shape how I partner with firms today.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for the company come together? France shared:
“Addepar was founded in 2009 in the wake of the global financial crisis, when it became clear how difficult it was for investors and advisors to accurately understand their full financial picture. Data was fragmented across systems, asset classes and geographies, making it hard to answer basic but critical questions about ownership, risk and exposure.”
“From the beginning, Addepar set out to bring all of that information together in one clear view. That focus on transparency and clarity still defines the company today. Our mission—to maximize the positive impact of the world’s capital—comes to life by giving investment professionals the insight they need to make informed decisions, manage complexity and spend more time tailoring strategy for their end clients.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? France reflected:
“This year’s AddeConf26 event stands out. It’s our flagship innovation and technology conference—bringing together hundreds of clients, partners, and industry leaders to explore how advancements like AI are shaping the future of investment management. It was our largest event to date. What makes AddeConf meaningful isn’t just the scale, but the quality of the conversations and the opportunity to deepen long-term partnerships with our clients.”
“I moderated a client panel focused on modernization, where firms shared candid perspectives on technology strategy, change management and impact measurement. Those discussions are incredibly valuable—not only because clients learn from one another, but because they directly inform how we continue to innovate. An ongoing dialogue with clients is essential to ensuring Addepar continues to build innovative solutions that meet their needs as they grow and operate in an increasingly complex environment.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? France explained:
“Addepar was created to give investment professionals a complete, accurate view of their entire portfolio, no matter how complex. At its core, the platform aggregates and normalizes data across asset classes, custodians, ownership structures and currencies, creating a trusted foundation for reporting, real-time analytics and decision-making at scale.”
“Building on that foundation, Addepar is now an open, AI-native platform designed to help firms apply intelligence across their entire operating model. AI is embedded directly into workflows to automate data-intensive processes, enable natural-language interaction with client and portfolio information, and proactively surface trends, risks and opportunities. Backed by more than $150 million in annual R&D investment and a flexible, open ecosystem, Addepar enables firms to configure workflows, tailor services, and evolve their strategies while delivering more personalized, insight-driven client experiences.”
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? France acknowledged:
“Market volatility has been one of the most significant industry challenges this year, particularly in how quickly advisors are expected to assess risk, adjust positioning and communicate with clients during periods of rapid change. Environments like these test not just investment strategy, but the underlying operating model firms rely on.”
“In response to periods of market stress, we’ve continued investing in tools that give firms faster visibility into underlying exposures and liquidity through targeted dashboards and real-time analytics. We regularly see usage across the platform accelerate during volatile periods, reinforcing how critical timely, connected financial data becomes when investment professionals need to make decisions quickly and engage their clients with confidence.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? France cited:
“Addepar’s most meaningful milestones reflect the trust we’ve earned from a global client base at scale. Today, more than 1,400 firms across 60 countries use Addepar to support their investment professionals, with close to $9 trillion in assets on the platform.”
“In this past year, we also expanded our presence in key wealth centers to better serve clients locally, including new offices in Singapore, São Paulo, Geneva and Dubai alongside established teams across Europe, the Americas and Asia. These milestones reflect a long-term commitment to partnership, combining global scale with local expertise to meet clients where they operate and positioning us to continue supporting firms as demand grows across global wealth markets.”
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? France highlighted:
“Laird Norton Wetherby is a strong example. Following the merger of three firms, the organization brought together approximately $16 billion in assets and a nationwide client base under a single operating model. To support that scale and complexity, the firm adopted Addepar as its core data and reporting platform.”
“As a result, Laird Norton Wetherby reduced the time spent managing alternative investments by roughly 40 hours per week and cut client response times by approximately 20 hours. These gains allowed teams to move away from manual processes and focus more on strategic work and client engagement, supporting continued growth without adding operational complexity.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? France affirmed:
“Every firm needs an AI story in 2026 and Addepar’s differentiation is rooted in the strength of its data foundation. From the outset, the platform was designed to normalize complex portfolio data across public and private assets—including alternatives, which today represent more than 40% of the assets on our platform—giving firms a consistent and reliable view as they scale in size and complexity.”
“That foundation is increasingly critical as every firm develops its AI strategy. Addepar’s clean, structured data enables AI to be applied in practical, high-impact ways—automating manual work, powering intelligent workflows, and surfacing insights directly within existing processes. Rather than treating AI as a standalone feature, Addepar embeds it responsibly into the operating model, giving firms a credible, scalable way to modernize, differentiate their client experience and evolve with confidence as expectations continue to rise.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? France concluded:
“Our focus is on continuing to scale globally while deepening the value we deliver to clients. That includes expanding our presence in key wealth markets and ensuring we continue to support clients with local expertise alongside a globally consistent platform.”
“At the same time, we’re investing in the next phase of platform evolution—embedding AI and automation more deeply into workflows, advancing our private markets capabilities, and strengthening the end-to-end client experience. Across all of this, our goal is to help firms operate with greater clarity, confidence, and efficiency as their needs and the industry continue to evolve.”
