ADDMAN has acquired Forecast 3D, a Carlsbad, California-based polymer additive manufacturing company, and will integrate the business into ADDMAN’s Polymer division as the advanced manufacturing provider expands production capacity and strengthens its digital customer infrastructure. ADDMAN said the deal also broadens its West Coast footprint and supports its long-term strategy to build a comprehensive additive manufacturing platform in North America.
Forecast 3D, which traces its operations back roughly three decades, brings additional capacity in powder-based polymer technologies, including Selective Laser Sintering and Multi Jet Fusion, along with an established digital quoting and customer support platform. ADDMAN said the added capabilities are intended to help customers move programs from early prototyping through full-rate production.
The acquisition pairs Forecast 3D’s Carlsbad operations with ADDMAN’s existing Dinsmore facility in Southern California, creating what the company described as a regional hub for polymer additive manufacturing. ADDMAN said customers will see expanded capacity and faster lead times, while also gaining access to a broader set of services across polymer and metal additive manufacturing, precision machining and injection molding.
ADDMAN said Forecast 3D had been operated as part of a global industrial manufacturing organization and that the transaction was supported by its ownership partners at American Industrial Partners. Following the acquisition, ADDMAN said its industrial additive fleet exceeds 160 systems, which it said positions the company among the largest additive manufacturing providers in North America within five years.
KEY QUOTES:
“Our strategy has always been about scale and capability. We are building the largest additive manufacturing service provider in the market. Designed to support any part, any process, at any stage of the customer’s journey. Bringing Forecast 3D into ADDMAN makes that vision real today, and we will continue to raise the bar for what customers should expect from an advanced manufacturing partner.”
“Reaching this scale matters, but it isn’t the finish line. Our focus is how we use it; where we invest next, how we partner, and how we continue expanding what AM can do. That’s the journey we’re on at ADDMAN.”
