Adient has appointed longtime board member Peter Carlin as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, bringing an executive already familiar with the automotive seating company’s strategy into its management team.
Carlin will step down from Adient’s Board of Directors on October 1, 2026, initially join the company as Vice President of Finance and become CFO on November 16.
He will succeed Mark Oswald, who will leave his position as Executive Vice President and CFO on the same date.
Carlin has served on Adient’s board since 2018, providing management and fellow directors with strategic oversight and advice.
His move into an executive position provides continuity as Adient looks to build on operational progress and maintain its relationships with major global automotive manufacturers.
The board will reduce its size to seven directors following Carlin’s resignation.
Adient is one of the world’s largest automotive seating manufacturers.
The company employs more than 65,000 people across 29 countries and operates approximately 200 manufacturing and assembly plants.
Its products range from complete vehicle seating systems to individual components, with capabilities spanning research, engineering and manufacturing for major automakers.
