Adobe Completes Acquisition Of Semrush, Expanding Brand Visibility And AI Search Capabilities

Adobe has completed its acquisition of Semrush Holdings, a leading brand visibility platform, adding search engine optimization, generative engine optimization, and agentic search optimization capabilities to its growing customer experience portfolio. The transaction strengthens Adobe’s recently introduced CX Enterprise platform, an end-to-end agentic AI system designed to help businesses manage content supply chain, customer engagement, and brand visibility at scale.

Semrush has spent more than 17 years building tools that help marketers grow through search intelligence, amassing deep customer adoption across businesses ranging from small companies to global enterprises. Its discoverability intelligence will now be united with Adobe’s broader suite of brand visibility and agentic web solutions, including Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe LLM Optimizer, Adobe Commerce, Adobe Experience Platform, and Adobe Brand Concierge.

The acquisition addresses a growing challenge for marketers as AI interfaces and agents become primary ways for consumers to discover, evaluate, and engage with brands. Adobe data shows that AI traffic to U.S. retail sites increased 269% year over year as of March 2026, yet businesses have significant gaps in AI-led brand visibility. As consumers increasingly turn to large language models to guide purchasing decisions, and as AI agents play a growing role in shaping brand discovery, chief marketing officers must now develop content and experiences that educate both humans and AI systems simultaneously.
