Adrianna Papell: Private Equity Investment To Expand Global Lifestyle Brand

Adrianna Papell, a New York City–based designer of women’s special-occasion apparel, has received a strategic investment from Dallas-based private equity firm Trive Capital.

Founded in 1980 and headquartered in New York City, Adrianna Papell is known for designing cocktail dresses, eveningwear, and polished day-to-day separates. The brand’s styles are created by its in-house design team in New York and are recognized for their fit, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

Since its founding, the company has sold more than 40 million dresses. Today, Adrianna Papell distributes its products through a mix of direct channels and retail partners, reaching customers across 27 countries.

Following the investment, the company’s existing management team will remain in place to lead the business as it pursues strategic initiatives to accelerate growth.

The partnership is expected to support Adrianna Papell’s expansion into additional product categories and strengthen its presence in underpenetrated channels, including direct-to-consumer and international markets. The company also plans to pursue growth both organically and through acquisitions as it evolves from a special-occasion brand into a broader lifestyle platform.

Trive Capital, which manages more than $8 billion in regulatory assets, focuses on investing in equity and debt in middle-market companies with potential for operational improvement and transformational growth. The firm’s investment professionals have participated in more than 250 middle-market transactions representing over $10 billion in revenue across its targeted sectors.

Adrianna Papell’s leadership said the partnership marks a significant milestone as the company enters its next stage of expansion after more than four decades in the apparel industry.
