Advanced eClinical Training (ACT), a healthcare workforce solutions provider, announced a partnership with Emory University’s HeartStart program to deliver a customized Clinical Medical Assistant training pathway for pre-medical students.
The program is designed to provide early clinical exposure through a structured combination of certification preparation, simulation-based training, and hands-on clinical experience. It aims to strengthen students’ readiness for medical school and future healthcare careers by integrating practical training alongside academic coursework.
The initiative will initially support a cohort of approximately 50 students participating in Emory’s HeartStart program. ACT’s curriculum includes preparation for the National Healthcareer Association Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification, along with real-world clinical workflow training and simulated patient care scenarios.
The collaboration is part of ACT’s broader University Pathway model, which integrates clinical training, certification, and workforce placement into academic settings. Through this model, universities can offer structured pathways that guide students from training to certification and into clinical experience, while aligning with healthcare employer expectations.
A core component of the program is Externi, ACT’s proprietary platform that manages clinical placement, tracks student progress, and verifies clinical experience. The platform enables institutions to monitor outcomes at both individual and cohort levels while ensuring standardized documentation and accountability.
