Advent International announced the appointment of Patricia Cross as an Operating Partner in Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Sydney, Cross brings more than 40 years of management and board-level experience across financial services, including wealth management, investment and asset management, and corporate and institutional banking. In the role, Cross will work alongside Advent’s investment professionals and portfolio company leadership teams to support governance, strategic direction, and long-term value creation across the firm’s regional investments.
Cross has extensive experience serving as both an executive and non-executive director across the financial services industry, with expertise in capital markets, risk management, corporate governance, treasury, portfolio management, and international affairs. During the past 25 years, she has served on nine large-cap listed company boards in Australia and the United Kingdom.
She currently serves as Chairperson of OFX Limited and as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Transurban. She recently completed a five-year term as a member of Australia’s Future Fund Board of Guardians. Previous board roles include positions with Macquarie Group, National Australia Bank, AMP, Qantas Airways, Wesfarmers, and Aviva plc.
Cross also previously served as Chairperson of the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation. Earlier in her career, she held senior executive leadership positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, Banque Nationale de Paris, and National Australia Bank.
Advent said Cross joins its global network of more than 145 Operating Partners and Operations Advisors who support the growth and operational development of Advent portfolio companies. The firm oversees more than $102 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2025, and has made 448 investments across 44 countries.
