Advent has raised $30 billion across its global private equity fund complex, including nearly $27 billion for its 11th flagship fund and more than $3 billion for a new mid-market investment strategy.
Advent International GPE XI exceeded its $26 billion target and represents the largest buyout fund to complete fundraising in 2026 to date, according to the firm.
The new Advent Mid-Market Private Equity fund has secured more than $3 billion of commitments since launching in March.
The fundraising attracted capital from new and existing investors including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, institutional asset managers, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
GPE XI will continue the investment approach used by Advent’s previous global private equity funds, deploying capital across geographies, sectors, transaction types, and deal sizes.
The fund will maintain a particular focus on Europe and North America while continuing to invest through Advent’s operations in Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
Advent’s new Mid-Market Fund will target smaller buyouts and growth investments and will use the same sector-focused deal teams as the flagship strategy.
The mid-market vehicle is expected to make equity investments ranging from $100 million to $350 million in companies with enterprise values of up to $1.25 billion, primarily across North America and Europe.
Advent focuses on five core sectors: business and financial services, consumer, healthcare, industrial, and technology. The firm has more than 290 investment professionals.
The fundraising comes during an active period for realizations and investments. Advent said 2026 is among its strongest years for realizations, with approximately $13 billion returned across 27 businesses. The firm has also invested approximately $10 billion across 38 new and existing companies year-to-date, including closed and pending transactions.
Advent manages more than $109 billion in assets and has completed 460 investments across 45 countries since its founding in 1984.
