Advocate Technologies Raises $18 Million To Bring Transparency To A Trillion-Dollar Commercial Insurance Market

By Amit Chowdhry ● Aug 15, 2026

Advocate Technologies has emerged from stealth with $18 million in Seed funding and a platform designed to create standardized pricing and coverage benchmarks for commercial insurance, addressing a market where buyers historically have lacked the price transparency available across most major financial asset classes.

The financing came from Vestigo Ventures, Brewer Lane, MetaProp, and select family offices.

Advocate has operated in stealth since 2020 and has built a data network encompassing approximately $7.3 billion in real-world insurance premiums across 70,000 policies.

The company is targeting brokers, commercial lenders, risk managers, loan servicers, property owners, and other organizations that need to determine whether insurance policies are competitively priced and adequately structured.

Advocate’s platform can perform policy servicing, proposal generation, coverage analysis, portfolio-wide gap assessments, and analysis of carrier appetite and pricing.

Its AI technology reads insurance policies and benchmarks them against the company’s market data in minutes, replacing work that traditionally can take days of manual review.

Advocate said the system can identify significant coverage gaps along with premiums that may be more than 100% above market averages.

At the center of the platform is Advocate’s proprietary World Insurance Model, or WIM.

The AI engine reads unstructured and inconsistent insurance documents and converts them into a standardized data structure, allowing users to compare pricing and coverage quality across different policies and transactions.

The company sees this standardization as a way to convert decades of broker and risk-manager experience into structured, repeatable intelligence that can be applied across entire portfolios.

Advocate’s data network is also designed to become more valuable as more brokers, lenders, property owners, and risk professionals use the platform for benchmarking, compliance, and portfolio monitoring.

The company’s Market Terminal currently tracks insurance compliance across more than $1.3 trillion of commercial real estate assets.

Advocate is headquartered in New York City and maintains offices in Prague and Athens.

KEY QUOTES:

“You can find the market price and financial details of any stock, bond, derivative, or other products traded in global markets, except for insurance. Every major market has gone through a transparency event that enables practitioners to better serve customers. When it happens, the market expands. Commercial insurance professionals are waiting for this shift so they can better serve customers, and we are here to enable it.”

Ashwin Agarwal, CEO and Co-Founder of Advocate Technologies

“Commercial insurance has always depended on unwritten market memory: what a broker or risk manager has seen before, who they can call, and how quickly they can interpret a complex policy. We built Advocate to turn that memory into data.”

Dimitris Psaropoulos, CTO and Co-Founder of Advocate Technologies

“We can take any policy and evaluate its price, coverage quality, and compliance against real transaction data, giving a view of the market that used to take decades of experience to build. The hard part was turning judgment into something structured, repeatable, and comparable across the entire market.”

David Haddad, Head of Product Engineering at Advocate Technologies
