AECOM announced it has been awarded a position on the U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense, or SHIELD, contract, a program with a ceiling value of $151 billion. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract is designed to accelerate the delivery of innovative defense capabilities, enabling greater speed and agility.

The SHIELD program spans a wide range of work areas focused on modernizing critical defense infrastructure across the United States. Under the contract, AECOM will provide professional services to support facility modernization efforts aimed at enhancing the agency’s infrastructure’s operational readiness.

The company will draw on more than a century of experience delivering integrated services across defense programs, including planning, design, and construction management. AECOM has supported defense infrastructure projects at numerous sites globally and will align its capabilities with the Missile Defense Agency’s strategic priorities under this program.

AECOM reported revenue of $16.1 billion in fiscal year 2025 and continues to position itself as a key partner for government infrastructure and national security initiatives.
