AethexAI announced its official launch along with a $3 million pre-seed funding round led by 4DX Ventures, with participation from Enza Capital, Dorm Room Fund, Mojo Ventures, 26 Fund, and a group of angel investors that includes contributors from Anthropic, Stanford faculty, and telecommunications executives across the Middle East and Africa.
The company is focused on building voice AI systems and infrastructure designed for enterprise deployments across emerging markets. According to AethexAI, voice remains the dominant channel for customer interactions in many of these regions, but existing voice AI solutions often struggle due to network limitations, diverse dialects and accents, local operational requirements, and pricing and latency constraints.
To address these challenges, AethexAI said it has rebuilt core infrastructure layers required to deploy voice AI reliably in these environments after spending significant time working directly with customers and operators in target markets.
As part of its launch, the company introduced Kora 1, a suite of voice AI products that includes:
- Kora Read (ASR), an automatic speech recognition platform built on proprietary datasets, human-assisted labeling, multilingual capabilities, code-switching support, and optimization for noisy and low-connectivity environments.
- Kora Speak (TTS), a text-to-speech platform featuring more than 100 natural voices with dialect and accent localization across the region.
- Real-time voice orchestration capabilities, including turn-taking, interruption handling, and end-of-speech detection.
- A no-code enterprise platform along with developer APIs and SDKs.
AethexAI said its technology is already deployed with enterprise customers across customer support, sales, onboarding, collections, and other customer-facing workflows. The company noted that one production deployment currently handles more than 15,000 outbound calls per day.
The funding will support the company’s continued development of voice AI infrastructure tailored to the unique requirements of emerging markets while expanding its enterprise customer base.
