Air Transport Components (ATC Group), a provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the aerospace industry, announced the acquisition of Aero Controls, Inc. (ACI), an FAA-certified provider of specialized aircraft component repair and overhaul services.
Headquartered in Seattle and operating across three locations, ACI has served the commercial aviation industry for more than 40 years. ATC Group said the acquisition expands its geographic footprint into the Pacific Northwest while strengthening its engineering expertise and proprietary repair capabilities.
Under the transaction, ACI will continue operating as a business unit within ATC Group. The company’s existing leadership team and employees will remain in place to support ongoing operations, growth initiatives, and integration efforts.
ATC Group expects the acquisition to enhance its capabilities across several highly technical categories of aircraft components, including avionics, electromechanical systems, pneumatics, transmissions, hydraulics, and emergency equipment. The company also sees opportunities to cross-sell services to a broader customer base.
The acquisition follows ATC Group’s purchase of PAS MRO and marks the company’s second add-on acquisition since partnering with private investment firm AE Industrial Partners in June 2025.
Founded in 1998, ATC Group specializes in the repair and overhaul of components and accessories for commercial and military aircraft. The company performs repairs, engineering, quality-control testing, and refinishing in-house at facilities totaling more than 150,000 square feet in Gilbert, Arizona, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Founded in 1984, Aero Controls provides aircraft component repair and overhaul services, parts sales, consignment management, and engineered solutions for commercial aviation customers worldwide. The company holds FAA, EASA, UK CAA, and ISO/AS certifications and supports airlines through its inventory, technical expertise, and around-the-clock aircraft-on-ground support services.
AE Industrial Partners, which manages approximately $9.2 billion in assets as of the end of 2025, focuses on investments in technologies and services tied to national and economic security, including aerospace, industrial services, and defense-related sectors.
XLCS Partners served as the exclusive M&A advisor to Aero Controls in the transaction.
