Aira has announced its expansion into Germany, Italy, and the UK, becoming a clean energy-tech company in Europe with an annual sales run rate of €200 million. And the company has raised €150 million in equity financing.
Aira offers customers a monthly payment plan, end-to-end service, and a 15-year guarantee. The company employs 1,200 people, operates 18 hubs, and has established four academies to train heat pump installers across Europe.
The raised equity will support the scale-up of Aira’s operations and broaden its clean energy-tech offerings. Investments will be made in the Swedish R&D centre for product development, and production capacity will be increased at the factory in Wroclaw, Poland. Additionally, Aira plans to strengthen its position in current markets and develop partnerships in the home and energy sectors to enhance market presence and achieve cost savings for customers.
There are currently 130 million boilers in use across Europe, making residential heating the third-largest source of CO₂ emissions on the continent and accounting for approximately 10% of Europe’s total emissions. Transitioning from gas boilers to air source heat pumps with Aira’s solution can decrease household heating costs by up to 40% and reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 100% when using clean energy tariffs.
