Airbus has entered into an agreement to acquire Quarkslab, a Paris-based cybersecurity firm specializing in protecting critical systems, software, and data from sophisticated cyber threats. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and consultation with employee representatives and is expected to close in 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2011, Quarkslab employs approximately 100 people across France. Its flagship solution, QShield, is designed to safeguard software and digital assets against AI-driven threats and reverse engineering, with particular focus on defense and aerospace environments. The acquisition will integrate Quarkslab into Airbus Defence and Space’s cybersecurity operations, enhancing capabilities across secure software development, threat detection, and protection of critical infrastructure.
The deal marks Airbus’ second cybersecurity acquisition agreement in recent weeks and is part of a broader strategy to build a pan-European cyber defense platform. It follows the acquisition of Infodas in Germany in 2024 and the planned acquisition of Ultra Cyber Ltd in the United Kingdom. Together, these moves are aimed at creating a comprehensive European cybersecurity ecosystem spanning multiple countries and critical sectors. Airbus Defence and Space currently operates cybersecurity activities across France, the UK, Germany, Spain, and Finland, focusing on securing complex digital systems and supporting national and allied security missions. Quarkslab’s expertise is expected to strengthen Airbus’ position as a trusted provider to governments, armed forces, and institutional clients.
