Airtel Money Plans London IPO With IFC Cornerstone Commitment of Up to £67.2 Million

Airtel Mobile Commerce, which operates as Airtel Money, has announced plans for an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has agreed to a potential cornerstone investment of up to £67.2 million, or approximately $90 million, subject to the final offer price and other conditions.

The proposed offering would consist entirely of shares sold by existing shareholders. Airtel Money would raise no new capital through the sale. The company expects to publish further pricing and offer size details in a prospectus in early October 2026, with a final price expected in mid-October.

Airtel Money operates across 13 African markets and reported approximately 53 million monthly active users. Its services include transfers, merchant payments, bill payments, and access to products such as microloans, savings, and insurance.

The platform reported $213 billion in total processed value for the 12 months ended June 30, 2026. Revenue for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026, reached $1.346 billion, with an EBITDA margin of approximately 50%. Airtel Africa currently beneficially owns 77.85% of Airtel Mobile Commerce and expects to remain a long-term shareholder after a listing.

Citigroup is serving as sole sponsor, a joint global coordinator, and a joint bookrunner. Other banks named for the proposed offering include Barclays, Goldman Sachs, and J.P. Morgan. The IPO has been announced as an intention to float; its pricing and completion remain pending.
