AirX Climate Solutions has acquired Northern Air Systems, strengthening its position in mission-critical and specialty HVAC solutions. The transaction marks the company’s fifth acquisition as it continues to expand its capabilities and market reach.
Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Northern Air Systems is known for designing and manufacturing specialized HVAC systems used in demanding environments. Its solutions serve a wide range of industries, including aviation, mobile medical, broadcast, law enforcement, marine, military, oil and gas, and hazardous industrial applications.
Founded more than 30 years ago by Tim Confer, Northern Air has built a reputation for engineering high-performance, custom HVAC systems and working closely with customers on complex technical solutions. As part of the acquisition, Confer will transition into a strategic advisor role to support ongoing innovation and growth initiatives. Will Rausch will serve as general manager, leading operations and driving continued expansion of the business.
AirX Climate Solutions, headquartered in Oklahoma City, provides full-service HVAC solutions including design, manufacturing, commissioning, and maintenance. Its systems are engineered for mission-critical and harsh environments across sectors such as data centers, telecommunications, industrial markets, oil and gas, and commercial applications.
The acquisition enhances AirX’s engineering capabilities and expands its presence in highly specialized verticals, aligning with its strategy to deliver advanced HVAC solutions for critical infrastructure and demanding operating conditions. The company is backed by Gryphon Investors, a private equity firm with approximately $10 billion in assets under management.
