Alaska Airlines has named Amaresh Siva Chief Information Technology Officer in a newly created role that brings technology and digital capabilities together under a single enterprise leader. Siva will begin the position in November, report directly to CEO Ben Minicucci, and serve on the company’s Executive Committee.
Siva will oversee Alaska’s enterprise-wide technology, data, digital, cybersecurity, and AI strategy. His responsibilities include strengthening core platforms, advancing digital capabilities, building scalable data and AI infrastructure, and supporting operational reliability and long-term growth across the airline’s businesses.
He brings 29 years of experience building and scaling digital, data, infrastructure, and AI platforms across healthcare, retail, and consumer finance. Most recently, Siva served as Chief Digital and Technology Officer for Health Care Delivery at CVS Health, where his work included large-scale cloud modernization, digital engineering, and deployment of AI tools in a highly regulated environment.
Earlier in his career, Siva held senior technology leadership roles at Target Corporation, where he helped rebuild Target.com and the Target app and modernize infrastructure and cloud platforms. He also spent nearly a decade with GE Capital, building marketing technology used across 18 businesses in 17 countries.
Alaska said the new role is intended to connect customer-facing digital products with operational systems and enterprise technology strategy. Siva holds an MBA from XLRI – Xavier School of Management in Jamshedpur, India, and a bachelor’s degree in technology with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
Creating the CITO position also consolidates responsibility for several functions that increasingly intersect as airlines modernize operations and customer experiences. Alaska is placing technology, data, digital products, cybersecurity, and AI under one executive as it builds a more integrated enterprise technology strategy.
