Alchemy Technology Group has acquired Freeit Data Solutions, expanding the cybersecurity and technology services company’s presence in Texas and strengthening its capabilities across infrastructure, data management, and security. Houston-based Alchemy is a portfolio company of Avance Investment Management.
Freeit is an Austin-based provider of data management, infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions serving public-sector and commercial customers.
The acquisition expands Alchemy’s capabilities across security and compliance, hybrid cloud infrastructure, backup and data protection, storage and hyperconvergence, virtual desktop infrastructure, data archiving, and consulting.
Freeit has operated for more than 16 years and has developed a significant customer base among state, local, and education organizations across Texas.
The company also serves enterprise and midsize commercial businesses.
Alchemy said Freeit’s public-sector experience strengthens its position in the SLED market, where customers often face specialized procurement requirements and distribution frameworks.
Freeit has experience working through Texas Department of Information Resources-supported business channels and other public-sector distribution relationships.
Alchemy plans to provide Freeit customers access to a broader set of technology and consulting services while maintaining the existing customer relationships and service model.
The transaction is part of Alchemy’s strategy of building a national platform through acquisitions that complement organic growth.
The company focuses on cybersecurity, digital workspace, data, cloud, AI, and related advisory and consulting services.
Avance Investment Management invests primarily in business services, industrial services, and consumer businesses and supports portfolio companies through organic initiatives and consolidation strategies.
Alchemy said it will continue targeting companies with strong customer relationships, differentiated technical capabilities, and cultures aligned with its customer-focused approach.
