Algorithmiq, a quantum computing software company, has closed an €18 million strategic funding round and relocated its global headquarters to Milan, Italy. The round was led by United Ventures, with participation from Inventure VC, and marks the largest venture capital investment into an Italian quantum startup to date.
The company said the move positions it at the center of Europe’s growing quantum ecosystem, where it plans to scale its software globally. Algorithmiq builds what it describes as the algorithmic layer that makes quantum computers useful today — the software, algorithms, and workflows that translate quantum hardware into practical tools for science and industry.
Algorithmiq said access to European quantum talent, industrial networks, and strategic capital will accelerate its ability to deliver real-world impact for global partners and customers. As quantum hardware continues to mature, the company believes the most significant breakthroughs will come from advances at the software layer rather than hardware alone.
The funding round represents a strategic inflection point for Algorithmiq as it looks to industrialize its platform and expand its footprint among the world’s largest quantum players. The company also announced it is actively hiring as it builds out its team in Milan and beyond.
