All Star Healthcare Solutions has acquired the locum tenens division of Cross Country Healthcare, expanding its physician and advanced practitioner staffing platform. The transaction was completed in connection with Knox Lane’s acquisition of Cross Country Healthcare. All Star is also a Knox Lane portfolio company.
The acquired business will initially operate as Cross Country Locums, an All Star Healthcare Solutions company. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Locum tenens staffing companies place physicians and advanced practitioners in temporary assignments at hospitals, medical practices and other healthcare facilities. Providers may use locum professionals to cover vacancies, employee leave, seasonal demand or shortages in specialized areas.
The acquisition adds Cross Country Locums’ customer base, recruiting professionals, provider relationships and technology to All Star’s national organization. The combination is expected to expand the number of specialties and geographic markets available to healthcare organizations and medical professionals.
All Star provides locum tenens and permanent placement services across all 50 states. Its customers include hundreds of hospital systems and individual healthcare facilities, and the company organizes specialty-focused sales and service teams to support providers and clients.
Cross Country Healthcare will focus on nursing, allied health, nonclinical staffing and workforce technology following the divestiture. The company will continue offering locum tenens services to customers through its relationship with All Star.
The parties plan to maintain service continuity during the integration, including support for existing customers, physicians and advanced practitioners.
