Allen Control Systems (ACS), a defense technology company focused on autonomous precision robotics, announced the completion of a $200 million Series B funding round at a $2.2 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Smash Capital, with participation from existing investors including Craft Ventures, Rally Ventures, Inspired Capital, and others.
The company said the new capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, accelerate deployment of its Bullfrog autonomous weapon station for the United States and allied militaries, and support the development of additional product lines.
Bullfrog is designed to address the growing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems by enhancing existing weapons platforms, including the M240 machine gun. The system combines artificial intelligence, computer vision, and precision robotics to execute targeting and engagement functions against Group 3 unmanned aerial systems.
ACS said it has secured contracts through Joint Interagency Task Force 401 and allied military customers, with Bullfrog already deployed by the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. The company also noted that Bullfrog achieved a 100% success rate during Technology Readiness Experiment 2026 (T-REX 26-1), a major U.S. counter-drone testing event.
The funding announcement follows ACS’s recent manufacturing expansion in Austin, Texas. The company said it is continuing to invest in autonomous battlefield technologies designed to help U.S. and allied forces counter emerging threats and improve operational effectiveness.
Founded in Austin, Texas, ACS develops AI-powered autonomous weapon systems and counter-drone technologies. Its flagship product, Bullfrog, is designed to enhance the performance of legacy and modern weapons systems through advanced robotics and autonomous targeting capabilities.
KEY QUOTES:
“Drone threats are growing faster than traditional air defense systems can meet them. Today, we are at risk of a catastrophic strike both abroad and at home. Bullfrog provides governments with a scalable and affordable solution that leverages our nearly unlimited supply of bullets all over the world, compared to scarce and expensive missiles and interceptors. This funding helps us scale production to meet the urgent demand from the U.S. and allied partners.”
Mike Wior, Co-Founder and CEO, Allen Control Systems
“Global demand for remote weapon stations has reached unprecedented levels as governments recognize kinetic defeat as the most reliable solution against low-cost weaponized drones. We are rapidly expanding our advanced manufacturing so we can get systems into the field faster.”
Steve Simoni, Co-Founder and President, Allen Control Systems
“Domestic critical infrastructure remains vulnerable to the threat posed by commercially available drones. ACS has built an efficient, adaptable solution that’s perfectly tailored to meet this pressing national security challenge.”
“ACS has demonstrated a prescient understanding of the trajectory of modern warfare. The company has built a proven system that addresses a real operational problem, and they’ve shown they can move quickly from development to deployment.”
