Allyant Acquires Braille Works To More Than Double Alternative Format Production Footprint

Allyant has acquired Braille Works, expanding its accessible communications capabilities across braille, large print, audio and accessible PDF formats. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Allyant is a portfolio company of Thompson Street Capital Partners and provides accessible document, digital and alternative-format print communications solutions.

Founded in 1994 by Joyce and Lou Fioritto, Florida-based Braille Works has spent more than three decades helping organizations make information accessible for people who are blind or have low vision.

The company serves customers across healthcare, financial services, government, education and the private sector.

The acquisition significantly expands Allyant’s alternative-format operations, more than doubling its production footprint and capacity while adding a Florida presence.

The combined business will provide accessible communications to organizations operating in highly regulated industries, with production processes designed around privacy and security requirements.

Allyant said the combination will also strengthen its ability to help customers navigate increasingly complex accessibility requirements across multiple customer touchpoints.

Braille Works’ capabilities include braille, large-print materials, audio and accessible PDF documents, complementing Allyant’s existing document accessibility, digital accessibility and alternative-format services.

The transaction expands Allyant’s scale while preserving a business built around Braille Works’ long-standing focus on equal access to information.

Thompson Street Capital Partners said the acquisition is intended to create additional value for customers and employees while improving the experience of individuals who rely on accessible communications.

Sidley Austin served as legal counsel to Thompson Street Capital Partners. Hyde Park Capital acted as financial advisor to Braille Works, while Polsinelli served as its legal advisor.

Thompson Street Capital Partners focuses on founder-owned middle-market businesses across life sciences and healthcare, software and technology, and business and consumer services and products.

The private equity firm had more than $4.5 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2026, and has acquired more than 250 companies since its founding in 2000.
