Alter Domus has appointed André Bourbonnais as Non-Executive Chair of its Board of Directors, adding a veteran private-markets and institutional-investing executive to the leadership of the global fund-administration and asset-servicing company.
Bourbonnais brings experience from several major global investment organizations. He previously served as a Managing Director at BlackRock and Chair of its Canadian operations, as well as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of PSP Investments.
Earlier in his career, Bourbonnais held senior executive roles at CPP Investments and La Caisse. He also holds a Master of Laws degree from the London School of Economics.
His appointment follows a search initiated after former Alter Domus Chairman Mark Wiseman was confirmed as Canadian Ambassador to the United States. Bourbonnais’ appointment remains subject to regulatory approval.
Alter Domus provides fund administration and asset servicing solutions across private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure. The company administers more than $4.5 trillion in assets on behalf of clients and employs more than 7,000 people across 23 jurisdictions.
The firm combines fund administration services with data, technology, and sector-specific expertise designed to support alternative asset managers as they scale their businesses and manage increasingly complex private markets operations.
Alter Domus said Bourbonnais’ background across private markets, asset management, and institutional investing will support the company’s continued expansion.
His experience at organizations including BlackRock, PSP Investments, CPP Investments, and La Caisse also brings relationships and perspective spanning institutional investors and global asset managers.
Alter Domus was founded in 2003 and has grown into one of the largest service providers focused on alternative investments. The company expects continued expansion across private markets as institutional investors increase allocations to private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and related strategies.
As Non-Executive Chair, Bourbonnais will work with Chief Executive Officer Charlotte Hogg, the company’s board, shareholders, and management team as Alter Domus continues investing in technology, data, and servicing capabilities.
