Amazon has announced the launch of new 1-hour and 3-hour delivery options, expanding its ultra-fast fulfillment capabilities across more cities and towns in the United States. The initiative allows customers to receive more than 90,000 products—including everyday household essentials, health and beauty items, and over-the-counter medications—delivered directly to their doorsteps in as little as one hour.
The service is already available in hundreds of U.S. cities for 1-hour delivery and in more than 2,000 cities and towns for 3-hour delivery, spanning major metropolitan areas and smaller communities. Customers can browse eligible products through their standard Amazon shopping experience, with new filters and messaging highlighting items available for rapid delivery. A dedicated storefront also enables easier discovery of products that can arrive within these accelerated timeframes.
Prime members receive discounted pricing for the service, paying $9.99 for 1-hour delivery and $4.99 for 3-hour delivery, while non-Prime customers pay $19.99 and $14.99, respectively. The new options complement Amazon’s existing delivery offerings, including same-day, next-day, and two-day shipping, and are designed to increase convenience while maintaining the company’s broad selection and competitive pricing.
The rollout builds on Amazon’s existing Same-Day Delivery infrastructure, which operates through localized fulfillment sites that manage the entire order lifecycle—from picking and packing to final delivery. By leveraging these facilities along with AI-driven inventory placement systems, Amazon is able to accelerate delivery speeds while preserving operational efficiency and safety standards.
The company noted that the new service is part of its ongoing efforts to innovate in logistics and meet evolving customer expectations, with plans to expand 1-hour and 3-hour delivery availability to additional locations in the coming months.
