Amazon And Harpo Sign Multi-Year Deal To Expand Oprah Podcast And Unlock Franchise Library Across Platforms

Amazon and Harpo Entertainment announced a multi-year agreement that will expand the reach of The Oprah Podcast while bringing a portfolio of Oprah Winfrey’s most recognized media properties into Amazon’s ecosystem.

Under the deal, Amazon’s Wondery will gain exclusive distribution and advertising rights for The Oprah Podcast across both audio and video. The series will expand to two episodes per week starting this summer, following strong performance in its first season.

Beginning in July, the podcast will be distributed across Amazon platforms including Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels, and Audible, while remaining available on YouTube and other podcast platforms. The agreement reflects Amazon’s broader push into creator-led content and personality-driven media franchises.

The deal also includes rights to “Oprah’s Book Club,” “Oprah’s Favorite Things,” and the library of The Oprah Winfrey Show, opening opportunities for deeper integration across Amazon’s content, commerce, and advertising ecosystem.

The Oprah Podcast features conversations between Oprah Winfrey and a wide range of cultural figures, authors, and thought leaders, often in front of live audiences. Topics span personal growth, relationships, financial well-being, and broader cultural issues, contributing to its strong audience engagement and industry recognition.

The partnership positions Amazon to further capitalize on the growing influence of creator-led media while leveraging Oprah Winfrey’s global brand, which spans television, publishing, and digital content. It also aligns with Amazon’s strategy of building integrated experiences across content, community, and commerce.
