  • Amazon recently announced the all-new eero mesh WiFi system. There are the details behind the device that you should know about.

Amazon recently announced a new eero mesh WiFi system. The new eero mesh WiFi system offers and reliable WiFi for streaming, gaming, and working from home. You can buy one for $99 or three for $249.

The eero is a mesh WiFi system that replaces your existing router and extends WiFi coverage seamlessly throughout your home. And a single eero can be plugged directly into your modem while additional eero devices extend your network’s range wirelessly or via Ethernet connections. This new eero is available in the US now. And eero will be expanding to Europe and customers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom with the new eero and eero Pro in early November.

“Our mission at eero is to make the technology in homes just work,” said eero co-founder and CEO Nick Weaver. “With the new, more affordable eero and expansion to Europe, we are advancing that mission so even more customers can experience the magic of simple, reliable WiFi at home.”

eero was founded in San Francisco in 2014 by Weaver, Amos Schallich, and Nate Hardison. Amazon had announced back in February 2019 that it was acquiring eero. At the time of the acquisition, Amazon.com SVP of Devices and Services Dave Limp pointed out that the e-commerce giant has a shared vision “that the smart home experience can get even easier, and we’re committed to continue innovating on behalf of customers.”

Setting up the eero just takes a few minutes. You simply just have to unplug your old router, plug in the eero, sign in to the app, and you are ready to go. The eero was designed so that it blends well into any décor. And once the new eero is up and running, you can connect your smart home devices to your WiFi network in fewer steps with Amazon’s Frustration Free Setup.

With the eero app, you can manage your network, pause the Internet, and share your network with friends and guests. A three pack of the all new eero should be able to cover 5,000 square feet. And you can mix and match the eero Pro and eero Beacon to create a custom system.

All of your eero devices are able to use TrueMesh technology to intelligently route traffic to avoid the trifecta of WiFi frustrations such as congestion, buffering, and drop-offs. And you can enable the eero Alexa skill to pause WiFi for specific profiles when screen time is over, you want to bring the family to the dinner table, or find connected devices such as phones — entirely with your voice.

eero collects minimal network diagnostic information that is used only to improve the performance, stability, and reliability of its products and services, and to provide world-class customer support. And eero’s network security is constantly working in the background to keep your system safe and secure. eero’s automatic software updates provide the latest security patches, bug fixes, and feature upgrades without you having to lift a finger.

And customers in the US can choose to add eero Secure or eero Secure+ to safeguard the devices that connect to their networks. eero Secure adds an additional layer of security at home while eero Secure+ provides additional security whether you’re at home or on-the-go.

In terms of pricing and availability, the eero mesh WiFi system is available in the US starting today for $99 or $249 for a three-pack at amazon.com/eerosystem. And it will be available in Canada for $139 or $349 for a three-pack by early November.
