Amazon Music has selected MusicInfra to support rights management as the streaming service expands its music video offering.

Under the agreement, MusicInfra will provide rights-management services designed to help ensure music publishers are accurately paid as Amazon Music increases the amount of video content available through its platform.

The partnership centers on MusicInfra’s rights-matching technology and infrastructure for processing large volumes of music-rights data across complex licensing scenarios.

Music video creates an additional layer of rights-management complexity because platforms must accurately identify and account for the music and publishing rights associated with visual content.

MusicInfra said its technology is designed to handle high-volume and high-velocity operations while matching content with the appropriate rightsholders.

The company will support Amazon Music as it expands its music video capabilities and works with publishers across the broader music ecosystem.

For Amazon Music, the relationship adds specialized infrastructure intended to provide the speed and flexibility needed as its music video offering grows.

MusicInfra’s platform is built around modular rights-management technology that helps digital platforms identify and manage music rights while supporting payments to publishers and other rightsholders.

The company positions its technology as infrastructure connecting digital music services with the rights ecosystem as platforms introduce new formats, products and user experiences.

MusicInfra is headquartered in New York City and maintains teams across the United States, Europe and Latin America.

Its leadership team includes executives with experience at companies including Hipgnosis, YouTube, Spotify, Meta and Gracenote.

MusicInfra is backed by MiddleGame Ventures, The Raine Group, Snö Ventures and UTA Ventures.

The company said its broader mission is to address rights-management challenges created by the increasing complexity and scale of the global digital music market.

Its technology is intended to help platforms work with music legally and sustainably while increasing the revenue and resources available to talent and other rightsholders.

The Amazon Music agreement gives MusicInfra a role in supporting one of the world’s major music platforms as it expands beyond traditional audio streaming into music video.
