amber has raised €7 million in Series A funding to expand an enterprise AI platform designed to understand organizational context and increasingly execute business workflows autonomously. Ventech and NRW.Venture, the venture capital fund of NRW.BANK, co-led the financing.
Ventech increased its investment after becoming amber’s first institutional investor approximately 18 months earlier.
The Aachen-based company plans to use the financing to expand across Europe, beginning with the Benelux region, grow its team and continue developing its proprietary AI Data Layer and enterprise integrations.
amber is focused on a fundamental problem facing companies deploying AI: business information remains fragmented across email, documents, cloud applications and internal systems.
Its AI Data Layer connects, structures and contextualizes that information before passing it to large language models.
The architecture is intended to provide AI systems with more relevant organizational context while reducing the amount of unnecessary unstructured information that models need to process.
amber said this can improve the quality of responses while increasing token efficiency.
The company is evolving from a platform in which employees initiate AI workflows toward systems that can recognize what needs to be done and execute tasks proactively.
amber currently serves organizations across manufacturing, engineering, IT consulting and consumer goods, including Scheidt & Bachmann, Ritter Sport, Zentis, Schüßler-Plan, Dalli and Hailo.
The company operates from Aachen, Cologne and Tirana and has begun winning customers in the Benelux region.
Amber was founded by Bastian Maiworm, Philipp Reißel, and Igli Manaj, combining family-business experience with AI research from RWTH Aachen.
