Amber Semiconductor: $30 Million Series C Raised For Vertical Power Delivery Solutions For AI Data Centers

Amber Semiconductor, a fabless semiconductor company developing next-generation power management technologies, announced the initial closing of a $30 million Series C financing round from new and existing investors to accelerate development of its power delivery solutions for AI data centers.

The funding will support product development, expand customer engagement, and accelerate the commercialization of the company’s vertical power delivery technology for the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market.

Amber Semiconductor is building new power architectures intended to change how electricity is delivered to processors in modern data centers. Its PowerTile technology enables backside placement on server boards, allowing power to be delivered vertically rather than through traditional lateral distribution. According to the company, this approach can reduce power distribution losses to processors by more than 85 percent.

As AI workloads continue to grow, data centers face increasing challenges related to power scalability, heat management, and physical space limitations. Amber’s vertical power delivery architecture aims to address these constraints by improving power efficiency and enabling higher-performance computing systems.

The announcement follows the company’s successful tape-out of its PowerTile vertical power delivery solution earlier this year. The silicon milestone marked a key step toward commercialization, with the company planning to begin shipments to major customers in the third quarter of 2026.

Amber Semiconductor also announced it will chair an industry session at the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) 2026 focused on vertical power delivery for AI processors. Representatives from AMD, Nvidia, and GlobalFoundries are expected to participate in the session, which will discuss emerging trends and system-level innovations shaping the future of AI infrastructure.

Based in Silicon Valley, Amber Semiconductor develops advanced power management solutions designed for AI processors, servers, and FPGAs operating in space-constrained computing environments. The company holds more than 50 U.S. patents and is a member of the Global Semiconductor Alliance.
