Ambienta SGR, one of Europe’s leading asset managers focused on environmental sustainability, has announced the appointment of Jérôme Losson as Partner and Head of Portfolio Operations, Private Equity. The hire is designed to strengthen Ambienta’s value creation capabilities across its private equity portfolio as the firm evolves toward what it describes as a “Portfolio Management 2.0” approach — more integrated, data-driven, and focused on scaling performance across an increasingly complex and growing platform.
Losson brings more than 30 years of experience across consulting, direct management, and private equity, with deep expertise in value creation, operational transformation, and digital initiatives including artificial intelligence enablement and cybersecurity. Most notably, he was instrumental in establishing KKR Capstone in Europe — one of the pioneering portfolio operations platforms in the private equity industry — as a member of its leadership team for close to a decade. He later served as Partner and Managing Partner at BC Partners, having begun his career outside academia at McKinsey. In his new role, Losson will be responsible for portfolio operations across all companies in which Ambienta has invested, across asset classes, working closely with investment teams and management to enhance performance, accelerate growth initiatives, and further embed operational best practices.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Milan with offices in London, Paris, Munich, and Stockholm, Ambienta manages over €4 billion in assets across private equity, public markets, and private credit. The firm’s private equity platform spans more than 130 manufacturing sites employing over 10,000 people across four continents. Ambienta said the appointment comes at a moment of heightened complexity for portfolio management, as decades of globalization give way to a more fragmented environment marked by tariffs, geopolitical tensions, protectionism, and less resilient supply chains — all compounded by transformative trends including AI adoption and the environmental transition.
