AMD Completes Acquisition Of MK1 To Strengthen High-Speed AI Inference Capabilities

AMD announced the completion of its acquisition of MK1, a Mountain View, California-based company specializing in high-speed inference and reasoning AI technologies designed for large-scale deployments. MK1’s team will integrate into the AMD Artificial Intelligence Group, where their Flywheel and comprehension engine technologies will support AMD’s efforts to expand its enterprise AI software stack. MK1’s Flywheel system has been optimized to utilize the memory architecture of AMD Instinct GPUs. It is currently used to process over one trillion tokens daily, enabling accurate and cost-efficient reasoning workloads at scale.
