Amentum Awarded $17.6 Million Air Force Contract Modification For Aerial Targets III Program

Amentum Services has been awarded a $17.65 million U.S. Air Force contract modification covering the fourth option year of the Aerial Targets III Program, extending the company’s support for the program through September 2027.

The modification, identified as P00038, was issued under previously awarded contract FA489022C0019.

The latest action exercises Option Year Four of the Aerial Targets III Program and has a total value of $17,648,024.

Work will be performed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2027.

The Air Force is obligating approximately $4.02 million in fiscal 2027 operations and management funding at the time of the award.

Air Combat Command’s Acquisition Management and Integration Center in Hampton, Virginia, is the contracting activity.

The award adds to a series of aviation, logistics and technical support contracts Amentum has secured from U.S. military and federal agencies during 2026.

In September, Amentum Services received a $10.19 million U.S. Navy modification increasing the ceiling of an existing contract for contractor logistics support, maintenance and related services for the Navy’s F-16A/B/C/D aircraft fleet. The work is being performed in Fallon, Nevada, and is expected to continue through August 2027.

Amentum has also continued expanding its work supporting military aviation maintenance. In July, the Army awarded the company a $19.17 million contract action for worldwide aviation maintenance, bringing the cumulative value of the underlying contract to approximately $377.77 million. Work associated with that award was scheduled to continue through November 2026.

That followed a $9.39 million modification awarded in June under the same global aviation maintenance contract. The June action supported work in Huntsville, Alabama; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Germany and involved a mix of Army funding and Foreign Military Sales funding for Australia.

Amentum also received an $11.52 million Air Force contract in May for T-6 aircraft sustainment and contractor logistics support. That award covers support for 15 T-6A aircraft at Balad Air Base in Iraq and includes supply support, field service representatives, labor and engineering task assignments. The work is being performed under a Foreign Military Sales arrangement with Iraq and is expected to continue through June 2028.

Another significant Air Force award came in April, when Amentum received a $66.11 million modification to its 9th Air Force Global Pre-Positioned Materiel Service support contract. That action increased the cumulative value of the contract to approximately $158.5 million and supports work at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina and throughout the Air Forces Central Command area of responsibility.

Beyond aircraft operations and sustainment, Amentum secured a $77 million, 60-month General Services Administration contract in June to provide logistics operations support and AI-enabled supply chain capabilities for the Pentagon and other federal customers operating across Japan within the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility.

The company’s recent contract activity also extends into civilian space programs. In August, NASA awarded Amentum a $974 million Center Maintenance, Operations and Engineering II contract supporting NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. The work covers maintenance, operations and engineering capabilities supporting research, technology development and exploration programs.

Amentum also announced in June that a joint venture between the company and Aerodyne Industries had secured NASA’s Consolidated Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems contract, expanding its role in spaceflight mission operations.

The latest $17.65 million Aerial Targets III modification therefore adds to a broader 2026 portfolio of Amentum awards spanning Air Force and Navy aircraft sustainment, Army aviation maintenance, Indo-Pacific logistics and NASA engineering and mission operations.
