Ameren Missouri: Aaron Melda Named Chairman And President

Ameren Corporation announced that Aaron Melda, a utility executive with more than 25 years of industry leadership experience, has been named the next chairman and president of Ameren Missouri, the electric and gas service provider subsidiary of Ameren Corporation.

Melda brings extensive operational and strategic leadership experience spanning power generation, transmission, nuclear operations, energy delivery, enterprise planning, external affairs, and commercial operations. He will report to Michael Moehn, group president of Ameren Utilities.

Prior to joining Ameren Missouri, Melda served as senior vice president of strategy, commercial operations & external affairs at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), where he oversaw enterprise strategy, economic development, customer and community relations, federal affairs, and commercial operations. Before that role, he served as senior vice president for transmission & power supply.

During his tenure at TVA, Melda also held several other senior leadership positions, including executive director for the Watts Bar Nuclear Unit 2 completion and senior vice president of operations support.

Before joining TVA in 2005, Melda worked at Siemens Power Generation in Georgia, where he began his career as a field engineer and project manager supporting turbine and generator services for utilities throughout the United States.

Melda earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Ameren Corporation, headquartered in St. Louis, serves 2.5 million electric customers and more than 900,000 natural gas customers across a 64,000 square mile service territory through its Ameren Missouri and Ameren Illinois utility subsidiaries.
