American Gridwork Partners announced the acquisition of PMT Site, a Nashville-based provider of underground utility and site infrastructure services. The transaction marks the launch of a year-long initiative by American Gridwork Partners to assemble a scalable national network of infrastructure service organizations focused on rebuilding and modernizing local energy, water, and data grids across the United States.
Phil Terhaar founded PMT Site and has become a recognized provider of underground utility installations, power and water upgrades, and site preparation for large commercial and mixed-use projects throughout Tennessee. Under the terms of the acquisition, Terhaar will continue as CEO of PMT Site. The company will maintain its leadership team, brand identity, and operational independence while gaining access to shared resources, growth capital, and the broader national platform of American Gridwork Partners.
American Gridwork Partners intends to use this acquisition to help establish a coordinated construction and infrastructure delivery platform for grid modernization needs. The effort focuses on connecting regional infrastructure specialists into a single national network that utilizes shared processes and technological coordination to support significant upgrades to distribution, transmission, and underground grid layers.
The strategic model is designed to respond to rising demand driven by electrification, industrial expansion, and the growth of data centers. The company aims to aggregate regionally dominant, family-owned, and highly specialized contractors to help carry out essential modernization work tied to power reliability, water systems resilience, and data infrastructure readiness.
With PMT Site as a foundational partner, American Gridwork Partners plans to continue acquiring additional regional operators to expand its network across multiple U.S. markets. The companies expect this model to support large-scale coordinated execution for utilities, asset owners, developers, hyperscalers, and public infrastructure stakeholders.
