AMETEK announced it has acquired LKC Technologies, a company that develops portable devices used by clinicians to test and monitor eye health, in a deal aimed at expanding AMETEK’s ophthalmic product portfolio and broadening its presence in eye care diagnostics.

AMETEK described LKC as a provider of technologies designed to help enable the effective diagnosis and management of ophthalmic conditions. The company said LKC’s tools are intended to detect early signs of diabetic retinopathy and other serious eye conditions that can lead to vision loss.

LKC Technologies is headquartered in Germantown, Maryland, and will join AMETEK as part of its Electronic Instruments Group, which AMETEK said designs and manufactures advanced analytical, test, and measurement instrumentation serving markets that include aerospace, medical, power, energy, research, and industrial applications.

AMETEK said the acquisition aligns with its Ultra Precision Technologies Reichert business and is expected to create market expansion opportunities while supporting a broader ophthalmic product lineup.
