Amperon announced it has secured an investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, adding a major strategic backer as the company continues international expansion and develops its next-generation AI-driven forecasting products for energy markets. The terms of the investment were not disclosed.

The Houston-based company provides forecasting and analytics software used by energy retailers, utilities, and independent power producers to predict electricity demand, renewable generation, and energy prices. Amperon said its models combine real-time weather, consumption, and market data, using machine learning, physics-based modeling, and ensemble weather analytics to improve accuracy and reliability for market participants.

Amperon said it now serves customers across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East, with active forecasts in 27 countries. The company attributed its broader footprint to rapid growth following its expansion into Europe in 2024.

As part of its recent product development, Amperon said it launched what it described as the first weather-informed grid-demand mid-term forecast, enabling users to anticipate electricity demand up to seven months in advance. The capability is designed to support seasonal planning and longer-horizon decision-making for grid operators and other market stakeholders.

Samsung Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Samsung Group, said it views Amperon as well-positioned in a fast-evolving energy landscape, citing the company’s ability to forecast and model real-time energy data at global scale. Amperon CEO and co-founder Sean Kelly said Samsung’s strengths in semiconductors, data infrastructure, and AI acceleration align with Amperon’s push into energy-intensive sectors such as data centers.

The Samsung Ventures investment follows two earlier 2025 investments Amperon cited from National Grid Partners and Acario, the corporate venture arm of Tokyo Gas, as the company continues to build a roster of strategic energy and infrastructure-focused backers.
