Amperon, a leader in AI-based energy forecasting and analytics, has secured a strategic investment from Acario, the corporate venture capital division of Tokyo Gas. This investment reflects investor confidence in Amperon’s technology and will support its growth in North America, Europe, and beyond.
Amperon’s AI forecasting solutions serve customers in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and 15 European countries, with rapid international expansion since 2024 into key markets such as the UK, France, Germany, and Spain. The company sets new standards in forecasting performance through advancements in machine learning and weather modeling.
Tokyo Gas, Japan’s largest gas utility, meets about one-third of the country’s energy demand and aims for net-zero emissions by 2050. Acario supports technology companies that have a significant impact on the energy sector, with a focus on decarbonization and service diversification.
Tokyo Gas and Acario are expanding their global partnerships through strategic investments, as exemplified by their 2019 investment in Octopus Energy, which led to the establishment of a joint venture in Japan.
Amperon’s AI models effectively combine real-time weather, consumption, and market data, outperforming traditional forecasting methods and earning the trust of major energy retailers and producers, such as Ørsted and AES.
This latest investment from Acario follows a March 2025 investment from National Grid Partners, indicating strong global confidence in Amperon’s technology. By providing accurate insights, Amperon helps customers manage resources effectively in a dynamic energy landscape.
