AMTD Group, AMTD IDEA Group, AMTD Digital and The Generation Essentials Group (TGE) announced the completion of TGE’s acquisition of the Hilton Garden Inn property in Tribeca, New York, for $69 million.

The hotel, located at 39 6th Avenue in New York City, has been rebranded as the AMTD IDEA Tribeca Hotel. The property marks an expansion of TGE’s hospitality portfolio and reflects the company’s focus on premium real estate assets connected to media, culture and entertainment.

According to the companies, the property will eventually be transformed into what they describe as the world’s first “Art Newspaper House,” linking the hotel to TGE’s broader media ecosystem, which includes cultural and entertainment platforms such as The Art Newspaper and L’Officiel.

The hotel aims to provide a neighborhood-focused experience that blends modern amenities with access to Tribeca’s art, fashion, and cultural scene. The companies said the location and scale of the property create opportunities to enhance operations, introduce retail components, and generate cross-segment synergies across their broader portfolio.

The acquisition represents a strategic milestone for TGE as it continues expanding its portfolio of premium properties alongside its media, entertainment, and cultural businesses. The companies said the Tribeca hotel investment aligns with their long-term strategy to combine hospitality assets with creative and cultural initiatives.
