Amundi Private Equity Funds, a leading player in asset management, has completed the first closing for the third iteration of its Amundi ETI Mégatendances investment strategy. This significant milestone brings the total fundraising for the Amundi ETI Mégatendances III investment strategy to €285 million.
This particular fund plays a crucial role in a broader investment approach that offers opportunities to both individual and institutional investors. The strategy places a strong emphasis on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, ensuring that investments are made with a consideration for sustainable impact. The core of this strategy revolves around growth capital and buy-out transactions. It also involves taking majority equity stakes when collaborating within a consortium, as well as strategic active minority stakes.
The fund is specifically designed to invest in unlisted European mid-cap companies. These companies are chosen for their potential growth, which is driven by at least one of three significant global trends: advancements in Technology, shifts in Demographics, and concerns for the Environment. The overall investment strategy has a maximum limit of €600 million and aims to create a diverse portfolio comprising 15 to 20 distinct holdings.
This recent closing occurred just six months after the fund’s initial launch and builds upon the success of the earlier Megatrends I and II vintages. The strategy is expertly managed by a dedicated team that has been working together for 12 years and possesses an average of over 20 years of experience within the private equity sector. This experienced team has demonstrated a strong history of performance with the previous two vintages.
For instance, the 2018 vintage achieved a DPI (Distributed to Paid-in) ratio of 1.5 times, while the portfolio of companies in the 2021 vintage nearly doubled in value in less than four years, showcasing the team’s ability to identify and cultivate successful investments.
