Amynta Group has agreed to acquire Southern States Underwriters and SSC Insurance Agency, collectively representing the insurance operations of Southern States Cooperative. The deal remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Founded in 1953, Southern States Underwriters is a managing general underwriter providing commercial property and casualty insurance designed for suppliers, distributors, and service providers in the agricultural industry.
Southern States Underwriters also serves as attorney-in-fact and exclusive distribution partner for Southern States Insurance Exchange, a reciprocal focused on the agribusiness market.
John Madden, president of Southern States Underwriters, will continue leading the business following completion of the acquisition.
The deal will add agribusiness insurance to Amynta’s broader insurance services platform. Southern States Cooperative will remain a long-term customer of the business.
Amynta has more than $4 billion in total managed premium across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia.
