Andreessen Horowitz Names Connor Love General Partner On American Dynamism Team

Andreessen Horowitz has named Connor Love as a general partner on its American Dynamism investment team. Love will focus on companies operating across defense, space, advanced manufacturing, autonomous systems and other technologies connected to U.S. national interests.

The appointment expands the venture capital firm’s capabilities in sectors that frequently require longer development timelines, specialized technical knowledge and close relationships with government customers. Andreessen Horowitz believes many of the decade’s most significant companies will emerge from industries supporting national security and domestic industrial capacity.

Love is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a former active-duty captain in the U.S. Army. His military experience included leading soldiers, advising senior commanders, and working with joint military personnel and Kurdish partners during a deployment to northern Iraq in 2019.

He entered venture capital approximately six years ago and has since invested in companies across defense, space, manufacturing and autonomous technology. Andreessen Horowitz said founders frequently identified Love as an investor who understood both their operating challenges and the businesses they were working to build.

Love is known for developing relationships with founders before formal investment opportunities arise. His approach has included maintaining regular contact, tracking changes within companies and markets, and providing advice as businesses move through extended development and commercialization cycles.

These relationships can be particularly important in defense and industrial technology, where startups may face lengthy procurement processes, regulatory requirements and substantial capital needs. Investors in these sectors often need to support companies through periods of technical development before significant revenue is generated.

Andreessen Horowitz’s American Dynamism strategy supports businesses that contribute to U.S. security, infrastructure, manufacturing and broader national competitiveness. The firm views financial performance and service to the national interest as complementary objectives rather than competing priorities.

Love’s appointment comes as investment activity increases across defense technology, commercial space and autonomous systems. The firm believes the United States must accelerate the development and production of critical technologies to maintain its leadership across these markets.

As a general partner, Love will help identify investment opportunities, advise portfolio companies and shape the American Dynamism team’s long-term strategy. Andreessen Horowitz expects his military background and investment experience to strengthen its ability to evaluate founders building in technically difficult and strategically important industries.
