Anima announced it has received a strategic investment from IBM to accelerate enterprise adoption of “vibe coding,” which the company describes as a workflow in which product teams design and build apps by telling AI what they want. The Tel Aviv-based company positions the deal as a way to broaden enterprise uptake of its AI design-to-code platform, deepen integrations with enterprise design systems, and extend support for legacy front-end code.
Founded in 2017 and backed by Y Combinator, Anima said it has helped define the design-to-code category and now serves as a front-end workflow layer for teams at large enterprises. The company said it has surpassed 1.5 million installs and that customers using its platform report delivering projects up to 50% faster while saving up to 80% of front-end coding effort. Anima also said coding agents such as Bolt.new and Replit rely on its tooling to generate production-grade UI code from professional designs.
Anima highlighted its positioning as an API-first, design-to-code platform with Figma integration, arguing that this places it at the intersection of AI-native developer tools and enterprise modernization. The company said its AI agents are designed to incorporate brand context, including design files, existing code, and brand language, to produce consistent, on-brand user interfaces that scale across teams.
The company positioned its product to address a persistent gap in enterprise digital delivery: while large language models can generate application logic, organizations often struggle to consistently produce polished UIs that adhere to brand standards. Anima said it aims to collapse the traditional design-handoff-build loop by treating design as interactive code connected to real data, enabling teams to “design directly in code” with AI support.
Anima said IBM’s investment will support its mission to expand across enterprise product organizations, leveraging IBM’s global operations and experience in enterprise technology and AI.
