Ant International has raised approximately $1.2 billion in Series A equity financing to accelerate its global expansion and financial technology development. Existing investors Ant Group and Alibaba Group participated alongside other international investment institutions.
The company plans to use the proceeds to expand merchant payments, account management and other financial services for small and midsized businesses and larger enterprises. Ant International will also continue investing in technology designed to improve cross-border commerce and payment interoperability.
Ant International began operating independently in 2024. Its principal markets span Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
The company has developed a partnership network that includes banks, card organizations, mobile payment providers and technology companies. Ant International said its platform connects more than 150 million merchants with over 2 billion user accounts worldwide.
The business operates through four main platforms: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst and Bettr. Together, these businesses provide payment connectivity, merchant services, international account management and technology-enabled financial products.
Alipay+ connects mobile payment systems and digital wallets across different markets. This allows consumers to use familiar payment methods when shopping with participating merchants outside their home countries.
Antom provides payment processing and technology for merchants operating across multiple markets. Its services are intended to help businesses accept different payment methods while managing international transactions through a unified platform.
WorldFirst provides cross-border accounts and payment services for businesses. The platform helps companies collect, hold, convert and transfer funds across currencies and markets.
Bettr focuses on technology-enabled financial services, including credit solutions for businesses. Ant International is positioning these offerings as tools that can improve access to working capital and other services for companies that may be underserved by traditional financial institutions.
The funding will also support Ant International’s work in agentic commerce. Agentic commerce uses AI systems that can assist with activities such as product discovery, purchasing, payment and other multistep commercial workflows.
Ant International is developing AI-powered technology across merchant payments, treasury management and credit services. These tools are intended to help businesses automate financial operations, manage liquidity, and support cross-border transactions.
The financing gives Ant International additional resources to expand its infrastructure and partnerships as international digital commerce grows. The company plans to continue working with financial institutions, merchants and technology providers to make cross-border payments more accessible and efficient.
