Anthropic announced the opening of its Seoul office along with new partnerships across the Korean AI ecosystem. The company said the office will support its long-term work with Korean enterprises, startups, researchers, developers, and nonprofit organizations building with Claude.
Senior leaders from Anthropic traveled to Seoul this week to open the office and meet with partners, customers, and developers. The Seoul office is led by KiYoung Choi, Representative Director of Korea at Anthropic, who brings three decades of experience leading technology businesses across Korea.
Anthropic said Korean organizations have been working with Claude across a range of use cases, including software development, enterprise productivity, customer service, research, and social impact.
NAVER has deployed Claude Code across its engineering organization, with thousands of engineers using it to diversify coding tools and improve productivity. Nexon engineering teams are also using Claude Code to write, review, and ship code for live-service games played by millions of users globally.
Several of Korea’s largest business groups are also deploying Claude. LG CNS, the IT services arm of LG Group, is rolling out Claude to thousands of employees for software development and client technology solutions, with plans to deploy Claude across LG Group. Hanwha Solutions is bringing Claude to global employees through AWS Bedrock to meet in-region data residency and security requirements. Samsung SDS is deploying Claude to employees across Samsung Electronics, with teams using Claude, Claude Cowork, and Claude Code for knowledge work, agentic workflows, and software development.
Korean startups are also integrating Claude directly into their products. Channel Corp uses Claude to power Channel Talk, its customer AI platform, which resolves customer inquiries and analyzes service and sales data to deliver business insights. Channel Talk is used by more than 230,000 companies across Korea, Japan, and the United States.
Anthropic is also expanding its work with Korea’s academic and nonprofit communities. The company will work with the National AI Research Lab, a consortium spanning KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei University, and POSTECH. Anthropic will provide Claude access to up to 60 NAIRL-affiliated researchers to support work on AI safety, model evaluation, alignment, robustness, and broader frontier AI research.
In the nonprofit sector, Good Neighbors Korea is deploying Claude to help staff analyze program outcomes, navigate social welfare law and internal guidelines, and reduce administrative work so teams can spend more time in the field.
Anthropic said Korea is among the top dozen countries globally for Claude.ai use, with usage concentrated in technical and creative work. The company said Claude for Startups is now live in Korea, and Claude Meetups have drawn hundreds of Korean developers since September 2025.
This week, Anthropic also co-hosted Claude Build Day with BASS Ventures, bringing together more than 100 Korean founders and developers for hands-on building with Anthropic engineering, product, and startup leaders. The company will also co-host a Push to Prod hackathon with Replit, Korea Investment Partners, and Korea Investment Accelerator.
