Microsoft, Nvidia, and Anthropic unveiled a sweeping set of strategic partnerships that will significantly expand access to Claude, accelerate infrastructure development, and deepen long-term collaboration across engineering, cloud computing, and model optimization.
As part of the deal, Anthropic will scale its rapidly growing Claude models on Microsoft Azure using Nvidia systems, providing Azure enterprise customers with broader model choice and new Claude-specific capabilities. Anthropic has committed to purchase $30 billion in Azure compute capacity and may contract for additional capacity, reaching up to 1 gigawatt.
Nvidia and Anthropic have also entered into a new technology partnership focused on joint design and engineering work. The companies will collaborate to optimize Anthropic’s models for performance, efficiency, and total cost of ownership while tailoring future Nvidia architectures for Anthropic workloads. Anthropic’s initial compute commitment for this collaboration reaches up to 1 gigawatt, using Nvidia Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.
Microsoft and Anthropic are further expanding their existing relationship to make Claude more widely available to global businesses. Microsoft Foundry customers will now gain access to Anthropic’s frontier Claude models, including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, and Claude Haiku 4.5. With this integration, Claude becomes the only frontier-scale model accessible across all three major cloud platforms. Azure customers will also benefit from increased model diversity and exclusive Claude-focused features.
Microsoft has additionally committed to continuing to provide Claude across the Copilot ecosystem, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
In conjunction with the broader partnership, Nvidia and Microsoft plan to invest up to $10 billion and up to $5 billion, respectively, in Anthropic.
